Connection Rio Guests

"When I first came to Rio five years ago, Dennis found me a sweet place to stay, a short walk to training, beaches, Pedra da Gavea, and
 all other daily necessities.
I trained closely with Dennis at Gordo's Jiu Jitsu Academy. Dennis has phenominal Jiu Jitsu and deep
technical knowledge. I owe a lot of my technical evolution and smoothness to our drilling sessions. I would also like to openly express
my gratitude to Dennis for his friendship--on an off the mat. I admire him for his integrity as a person, and strength in Jiu Jitsu. For
anyone who wants to go deeper in their Jiu Jitsu and train at the source, Connection Rio is the way. Live your Dreams."

David Oliver Mills - Gordo Jiu-Jitsu, USA

"In the summer of 2009 a friend and i decided we were going to go to Rio to train Jiu-Jitsu! I had only been training for a few months and
was a bit worried that the level out there would be too advanced for me. I got in contact with Dennis from Connection Rio and straight
away he made me feel more at ease and put my fears to rest. Dennis organized everything for us from a place to stay, training at Gordo's
Jiu Jitsu academy and transport to and from the airport and i can't thank him enough for this Connection Rio made things more
affordable and hassle free. The level of training at Gordo's was exceptional with high level world class black belts in class everyday,
when i decide to go back to Rio to train again I will definitely be using Dennis and Connection Rio!"

Adam Scobie - Vitor Shaolin Team, NYC

"To train where it all began is an adventure of a lifetime. Dennis is a great guy and also a good teacher. I grew up in the 80's with movies
like Karate Kid and American Ninja since then I always wanted to train Martial Arts. I tried a lot as a kid but never found my Mr. Miyagi kind
of training. BJJ is still pretty young in Germany, therefore it is pretty hard to train, especially if you work fulltime as me - doing other Martial
Arts as well. So I tried to pick up BJJ in some workshops all over Germany until I read an article about Connection Rio and Gordo Jui Jitsu.
Within a minute I knew that is what I want to do. Dennis helped me a lot with planning, as well as living and training in Rio. The academy is
the place to be, even for rookies of the sport. You train with great sportsmen and champions on a regular basis. In Addition you will live in a
house and environment which is inspiring and pushes you to a higher level. The training was a real enrichment not only for my BJJ but
also as a person. On top of a beautiful county, top of the food chain Jiu Jitsu day in and day out, you will also be able to make lifetime
friendships with guys from all around the world. So what are you waiting for – see you next time in Barra."

Florian Neuber - Manager and Martial Artist (Germany)

"Training in Rio de Janeiro was truly an awesome experience. The opportunity of being able to train under Robert "Gordo" Correa a
legend of the sport, spending time daily with multiple world champion black belts whilst being a relative novice in the Jiu Jitsu myself
was an opportunity that can't be found anywhere else. Moreover, it was a rare chance to live amongst and spend time with the carioca,
experiencing Brazil and its people in their true form and not as a tourist.

Going through Connection Rio gave me huge benefits - I was able to hit the ground running with all the help Dennis gave me in terms of
getting set up and ready to train as soon as I landed and giving me great assistance in all matters during my time at the Connection Rio
house. Also, the chance to train with and get substantial individual attention Dennis, a Brazilian trained black belt himself, on a daily
basis helped my game hugely - as much as I hate to admit it, all those drills meant were definitely worth it!! My time in Rio can never be
forgotten. I made many friends from all over the globe, saw one of the world's most beautiful cities and improved my Jiu Jitsu in a way
that would never have been possible at home - to be honest, I can't wait to get back!"

Vidu Shanmugarajah - Carlson Gracie Revolution Team (London, England)

"In the fall of this past year, I began to plan a lengthy trip to Brazil from the United States, knowing very little about Rio and the rest of the
country. It was during these planning stages that I realized how difficult it is to plan a trip to Brazil without knowing the ins-and-outs of
living there for an extended period of time. I didn’t know where to stay or what to do, but Rio Connection helped me sort things out. I was
introduced to Dennis Asche through a trusted friend, because he indicated how helpful he was he was on his own 3-month trip to Brazil
from Norway.

Dennis was able to help me find a place to stay for 10 weeks, in an area to my liking, close to the martial arts gym I was training at, and
within walking distance of great beaches, restaurants, and local bars. He was also quite handy when sharing his insights to Brazilian
Travel, extended stays, touristic activities, and even basic Visa questions. I highly recommend Dennis of Rio Connection for short and
long stays in Brazil, because it always helps to have a friend on the ground."

Corey Snow – Ralph Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (USA)

"I was training at Gordo BJJ Academy in June 2009. If i get the chance to return I'll definitely go through Connection Rio again. Dennis
makes everything so easy, from arranging a reliable taxi to and from the airport, accommodation, discounts on training gear, privates,
medical treatment and just solid advice. There were no hidden costs, everything was exactly as quoted. He really went out of his way to
make sure we enjoyed ourselves and got the most out of training."

Andrew Manning -Team Pedro Bessa (Ireland)

"Connection Rio is a lifesaver - Dennis found me an awesome apartment practically on the beach and 5 minutes to training - unreal!!!
Highly recommended."

Paul Schreiner "El Technico" - Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt / Kaijin MMA (USA)

"Living in Brazil was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Rio is an amazing city with a beautiful culture and wonderful people. The
truth is, if I didn't own a business here in Texas I would probably be living there still today. Thanks for all your help Dennis. Staying at your
place and all the help you gave me made my stay in Brazil better than I could have imagined. See you soon buddy."

Gracie Barra Black Belt Travis Tooke (USA)

"Hello my name is Daniel Weichel, I'm a Vale Tudo fighter from Germany. Last summer I decided to go to Brazil, to prepare for my
upcoming fight in England, so I was looking for a good team to train with. I made contact with Dennis Asche who helped me find the
Gordo Team and a good place to stay. I had a fantastic experience...The Jiu-Jitsu and Vale Tudo classes where exactly what I was
looking for and the atmosphere was great."
